ZEBULON VANCE “Z. V.” SPELL, JR.

WENDELL – Zebulon Vance “Z. V.” Spell, Jr., 96, passed away peacefully on Friday night surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was son of the late Columbia Stevens & Zebulon Vance Spell, Sr.. He was a WWII U. S. Army combat veteran having served in the African and European Theaters. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Mr. Spell was a member of the VFW Smithfield, DAV Johnston Chapter 44, and the American Legion Clayton Post 71. He was preceded by his beloved wife of 56 years, Lillie Mozelle Harris Spell.
Graveside funeral service, 1 pm, Tuesday, Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Catharine Rozier (Larry) of Raleigh, son Leo Warren Spell (Iva Lou), grandsons, Eric Scott & Christopher Neil Rozier (Kimberly), and great grandchildren, Jacob Neil, Elisabeth Anne, & Gabriel Vance, and special friend “Pup”.
