SPRING HOPE – William David Manning, Sr., 75, of Kinston died Tuesday. He was the son of the late James & Elizabeth Manning. William was a skilled tile setter for more than 50 years. He lived a simple life and enjoyed fishing & vegetable gardening. He loved and was loved by his family & will be greatly missed. William went back and graduated high school with his wife Grace in 1990.
He was also preceded in death by siblings, Doris Young & Valista Moss of Momyer.
Funeral service 3 pm, Saturday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, Manning Family Cemetery, Momyer.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Ellen Grace Manning, children; David Manning of St. Petersburg, FL, Debra Long (Paul) of Spring Hope, Robin Propst (Rodger) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Kenneth Manning (Laurie) of Zebulon, & Steve Manning, siblings, Elias Manning (Joyce) of Bailey, Donald Manning (Barbara) of Lynchburg, VA, Marie Moss of Henderson, NC, & Ewilder Brantley of Momyer, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.
