WALLACE HAGWOOD

November 19, 1924 – March 21, 2013

SPRING HOPE – Wallace Hagwood, 88, died Thursday.  A native of Nash County he was son to the late Joseph Everette & Maggie Woodard Hagwood.  Wallace served his country during WWII in the U. S. Army.  He was first and foremost a farmer.  He also retired from Scovill Schrader after 23 years and worked for Franklin County Sanitation Department for more than 10 years.  He was a gentle man, always kind & loving, willing to help his family and fellow man.  He was preceded in death by siblings; Craig, Charles, & Ruth.

Funeral service 2 pm, Sunday, Rocky Cross Baptist Church.  Entombment, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Jean Privette Hagwood of the home, son; Phil Hagwood (Karen) of Chester, VA, grandchildren; Angie Hagwood (Tim Coyle) of Radford, VA, Laura Hagwood Ayala (Kevin) of Savanah, GA, Kiel Hagwood of Salzburg, Austria, great grandchildren, Ellie Ayala & Jack Coyle, nieces; Ann, Jean, Kathy, & Janice, nephew; Don
