Trudy Batten Paul
March 27, 1948 – February 7, 2020

Wendell – Trudy Batten Paul, 71, died Friday.  She was born in Johnston County to the late Nathan David & Mable Holder Batten.  She retired from the Department of Corrections where she was a correctional officer.  She was an ECU fan and she absolutely loved her husband, Charles R. Paul Jr., & her son, Master Officer Charles R. Paul, III.

Funeral 11 am, Tuesday, Baptist Tabernacle Church with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her siblings, Joe Batten (Gwen), Treva Lewis (Fields), Fannie Holt, granddaughter, Charli Melinda Bacon, nieces, nephews, & special friends.

Flowers welcomed, or memorials may be made to Baptist Tabernacle Church.

    Sorry to hear the passing of Trudy. She has fought a battle over the years both emotionally and physically. She is no longer suffering and I am certain she is happy to see her son and husband again. Thoughts and prayers for the entire family, Dhe is finally happy again!!!!!

    My condolences go out to Fannie, Treva, Joe and all Trudy’s dear friends. She was loved by many. She fought a long hard battle but never gave up. She was very strong willed but God finally told her it was time to come home. She is with her husband and son that she cherished so much. Smile that smile Trudy because I know you are happy to see them again. Rest in peace my dear friend.

    Trudy, My heart is breaking and tears are falling as I am writing this. I am in total shock. Do not want to believe this.
    But I know you have to be happy with Little Charles, and Charles Paul. I can just see you now, with all the hugs.
    I will be crying and missing you for a long time, but I know you are not in pain any more. . You will always be my special sister. We always had so much fun together.

    You should have been a “Turner” as you were certainly one of the “Turner girls”. All of us have loved you for so many years. I know you are finally well and you are with Little Charles & Charles. I know you have already cooked them a good meal and a carrot cake…Will miss you bunches! Say hello to our other sisters Gladys & Peggy . I know you all are telling a bunch of stories and Peggy is saying ” I know that is a lie!” Love you–“Little Turner” as your daddy always called me.

    To the family, I send my condolences and deepest sympathy. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Paul for many years prior to her retirement and remained in contact with her, faithfully, over the years since then. Trudy you were loved and will be truly missed. I pray that the family can find comfort in knowing Trudy is no longer in any pain or suffering. May God keep the family covered during their time of bereavement.
