Roger Lee Strickland

Roger Lee Strickland, 76, died Sunday.  He was born in Nash County.  He was an auto parts manager for many years and also retired from the Zebulon RFD.   Roger was a giving man with a determined spirit.  He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren very, very much.  Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his father, Henry Lee Strickland, sisters, Barbara Williams & Anita Allen.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances Marie Woodlief Strickland, children, Leamon Strickland (Lenore), Carolyn Hicks (Burt), mother, Eldie Eatmon Strickland, sister, Donna Osgood (Oz), grandchildren, Jake Strickland, Lanie Grace Strickland, Lynn Hicks Allmon, great grandchildren, Braxton Allmon, Macie Allmon, Renna Jane Johnson, & Brenlee Allmon.

Graveside service 2 pm, Thursday, Zebulon Town Cemetery.  He will lie in repose 9 am – 12 pm, Thursday, Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell.

    We were so sorry to hear about Roger. He put up a terrific fight and the care you gave him, Marie, is what kept him going. Thank God you were willing and able to help him thru these last years. Kenneth remembers working with Roger many years ago and said he was good to work with because “he really knew his parts” and was willing to help a customer with any auto problem he might have!     Mark and I very dear friends of Lorine Strickland Jones, Roger’s sister. Lorine always showed and spoke lots with lots of love of her brother Roger.
