WAKE FOREST – David Brinkley, 63, passed peacefully in his sleep Thursday morning. He was a loving husband, father, “papa”, brother and a special friend to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. David was a retired famer and HVAC contractor. He enjoyed vacationing at his home in the mountains, driving his 63 Chevy Impala, playing pool, going fishing, & spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by sisters, Nellie Hatley, Betty Carroll, & brother, Jasper Brinkley
Funerals service 2pm, Sunday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, Greenmount Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alice, 4 children, Buddy Wayne Patton (Lynn) of Knightdale, Terry Patton (Diane) of Wendell, Olivia Cash (Michael) of Spring Hope, Karen Brinkley (Bubba) of Zebulon, grandchildren, Jesse, Koty, DJ, Aimee, Dylan, Kylie Mae, siblings, Frank Brinkley (Anna), Mary Lou Reagan, Ann Williams (Richard), Sylvia Carroll, Frances Brinkley, and Sue Green (Gary).
