ZEBULON – Margaret Whitley Hawley, 84, died Wednesday. She was daughter to the late George Washington & Martha Jane Peele Whitley. She lived in Bailey most of her life and resided at Kinder Care for the last 12 years. Margaret loved people, and playing Bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Josiah Hawley Jr., son-in-law, Jerry Bunn, brothers, Charles Ray, Billy, & George Whitley Jr.
She is survived by her children, Cecil Hawley (Rae) of Bailey, Kaye Bunn of Sims, Ann Carter (Kent) of Middlesex, brothers, Robert Whitley of Wilson & Ervin “Pete” Whitley (Hazel) of Roanoke Rapids, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral service 2 pm, Saturday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell. Visitation from12:30 -2 pm, prior to the service & other times at her daughter, Kaye’s home. Burial, Bailey Town Cemetery.
