Lee Roy Collier, Jr.

ZEBULON – Lee Roy Collier, Jr., 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday surrounded by his family. He was born in Meherrin VA, to the late Lee Roy & Lottie Hailey Collier, Sr. He worked with Georgia Pacific until his retirement. He loved woodworking and was a master craftsman.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, June Fowlkes Collier of the home, daughters; Denise Pace of Raleigh, Robin Satterwhite (Brooks) of Valrico, FL, Kelly Brinkley (Brian) of Boynton Beach, FL, sister, Madeline Boliek of Richmond, VA, grandchildren, Dustin, Blake, Adam, Jared, Garrett, & Elizabeth.

Flowers welcomed or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital.

Funeral service 3 pm, Tuesday, Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell with the family receiving friends following the service & other times at the home. Private burial in the Meherrin United Methodist Church Cemetery. www.stricklandfuneral.com

    Lee Roy was an amazing man and well respected. He was always so proud of his family and loved them very much. My kids, Garrett and Liz had a great relationship with their Grandfather. He truly will be missed by all, including me. Rest in Peace Lee Roy.
