Larry Edward Brantley

Larry Edward Brantley

September 30, 1950 – September 2, 2024

Larry Edward Brantley, 73, of Middlesex, NC, peacefully went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, September 2, 2024, at UNC Nash Hospital in Rocky Mount. He was born on September 30, 1950, in Nash County to Lonnie Edward Brantley and Ethelene Hinnant Brantley. He was married to the love of his life, Becky Brantley, for 53 years.

He was the laughter in any room he walked into! He was a simple man that loved simple things, and he lived life to the fullest. He was the best husband, daddy, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved his family more than anything. He enjoyed cutting grass and working in his shop; he also loved hunting, camping, and fishing. He was a faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church for twenty years. Larry’s career path led him to various opportunities such as working at Hi-cone as a traffic manager, owning and operating Brantley Bait and Tackle Shop, as well as his own small engine mechanic shop, and working for Zelenka Nursery, where he retired.

He is preceded in death by his son Michael Shane Brantley, his mother Ethelene Hinnant Brantley, his father Lonnie Edward Brantley, and his sister Diane Strickland.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Becky Nelson Brantley; daughter, Nicole Poelman (Isaac); granddaughter, Shaina Poelman; sister Phyllis O’Neal; brother Jerry Brantley (Regina); and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled on September 5, 2024, at 5:00p.m., at Heritage Baptist Church, in Zebulon, NC, with visitation prior to the service from 3:00p.m.-4:30p.m. We kindly ask in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to Heritage Baptist Church.

One of the nicest guys I’ve ever known. Always enjoyed talking with him and enjoying the holidays with the Brantleys and the Poelman’s. Larry was truly one of a kind and will be sorely missed but he left lasting memories. RIP my friend
