Johnny Waylon Earp
February 11, 1943 – November 2, 2022
WENDELL – Johnny Waylon Earp, 79, peacefully went home to the arms of his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. As he would have wanted, he was surrounded by his wife and children. He was born February 11, 1943, in Wake Co. to the late Paul Waylon Earp and Clyde Etta Munford Earp. Johnny worked as a Salesman in Commercial Sales; working for Lowes, Jeffrey’s Furniture Gallery and Deals on Wheels. In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by son, Larry Leonard Earp and great grandson, John Emric.
A Funeral service will be held at 11am, Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Hales Chapel Baptist Church, 13396 NC-39, Zebulon, NC 27597. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Ave., Zebulon, NC 27597.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lula Earp; children, Cindy Earp Brantley (Michael), Robin Earp McAllister (Shane) and Jonathan James Earp (Samantha); grandchildren, Casey Brantley Weaver (Bobby), Ashleigh Storm, William Brantley, Zachary McAllister, La’Donte Holder (Lizzy), Nicholas Earp, Aiden Earp, Caleb Lambert and Graham Lambert; great grandchildren, Woods Weaver and Jameson Weaver; sister, Alice Page Pearce.
His great love and pride for his family (both biological and not) was known and felt by all that knew him. Johnny knew how to love one way…with all his heart! He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with a love that only came second to his Lord and Savior. Johnny loved Jesus, his family and ball…in that order! Many nights he could be found sitting at a ball field in Wendell cheering on his boys! Rather it be a ball field or a dance recital, Johnny was happiest supporting his grandchildren. His presence will be missed. In the words of his grandson, the ball field will never be the same.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:30pm, Friday, November 4, 2022 at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, NC 27591.
Arrangements are entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory. www.stricklandfuneral.com.
