John Timothy “Tim” Meetze
July 9, 1965 – January 11, 2016
WILSON – On Monday morning, January 11, 2016, Tim Meetze, 50 of Wilson passed away at home after a 16 month battle with Stage IV Lung Cancer. He was employed with Contract Erectors Inc. as a Foreman & crane operator. He served 4 years in the Marines in the early 80’s. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne Tankersley & mother-in-law, Alta Ruth Burgess Spain.
Tim is survived by his wife of 14 years, Carol Burgess Meetze of the home, his doggie daughters, Hershey, Summer, Sassy, & Magic. Special family, Andy & Rhonda Thompson of Lexington, SC, his father, John Meetze (Sherry) & son, John E. Meetze, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews.
Carol would like to thank Dr. Scott Smith & his staff from Southeastern Medical Oncology Center, Dr. Margaret Metts & her staff from Wilson Radiology Oncology, & Amy, Stacey, & Paulette from 3 HC Hospice for their excellent care during Tim’s sickness.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 14, 5:30-7 pm with a celebration of life service to follow at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, & other times at the home. www.stricklandfuneralhomes.net
