John “Johnny” Edwin Richardson
November 18, 1938 – September 23, 2014
ZEBULON – John “Johnny” Edwin Richardson, 75, died Tuesday. A native of Wake County he was son to the late Edwin Caroll & Thais Pearl Medlin Richardson. He was a graduate in 1966 from ECU and then went on to graduate from the SBI Academy. He worked with the SBI for 27 years until his retirement and 9 years with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Department. He was a gentleman who loved animals, classic cars, and crossword puzzles. He enjoyed westerns and the Pamlico River since his childhood. He loved playing pool, the beach, & card games.
He is survived by his children, Chad Richardson of Zebulon, Bart Richardson (Jessica) of Winnabow, NC, Vicki Donahue (Sean) of Rockland, MA; siblings, Carol Hopkins & Tim Richardson (Sandra), both of Zebulon; grandchildren, Grace Richardson, Emma Richardson, Cole Donahue, Mason Donahue, Jameson Donahue, Mike Donahue, and special friend Linda Creech of Wendell.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Masonic Home For Children at Oxford or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Visitation 1 pm – 3 pm, Sunday, Zebulon Baptist Church with memorial service to follow at 3 pm.
