ZEBULON – Jean Ray Jones went home to be with her Lord on Thursday. She was born in Durham County to the late Graham and Asalee Barnett Ray. She worked in the manufacturing of Devil Dog Dungarees, as well as a plate maker for Theo Davis Printing. She will be remembered fondly as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and aunt. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Frances Brantley.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert Lee Jones; daughter, Pamela Jean Hughes (Christopher); nephews, Ricky Brantley (Betty) and Cale Brantley; great-niece, Tiffany Brantley Gresham (Chris).
Jean had 8 sponsored “grandchildren” (Melanie, Janeyron, Grace, Eydan, Yerlin, Arnold, Lupita and Arsleidy) through the organization of Children International and was active with her crochet and art in helping to raise funds for them.
