James Alexander Setneska
May 18, 1934 – May 6, 2021

Selma – James Alexander Setneska, 86, passed away on Thursday.  He was born in Will County, Illinois to the late James and Lillian Bart Setneska.  He worked as a professional building contractor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Byrne Setneska; son, Thomas Setneska and sister, Loretta Walters.

He is survived by his children, Mary Beth Colvell, Donna Setneska-Smith, James Setneska, Jr., Valerie Setneska, Fred Setneska (Valerie), Stacy Field (Joel), Alan Setneska, Linda Nunes (Paul); 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 9am, Monday, May 17 at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 608 Lions Club Road, Wendell.  Arrangements with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third Street, Wendell.  www.stricklandfuneral.com

    My deepest sympathies to the Setneska family. Jim was a kind generous, hard working man and a very dear friend. I have so many fond memories of the times I spent with him he will forever hold a special place in my heart. We’re going to miss you, buddy. Rest in Peace.

    I was so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I have known Jim for most of my life. He was a great family man and friend. Along with being my neighbor for over fifty years. I will always rennet our many conversations on his front porch. Rest In Peace Jim! Till we meet again!
