Glenn M. “Shorty” Parker died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 after months of declining health and a short hospital stay. Born July 29, 1937 to the late Obie and Leona Gray Parker of Wilkes County, he was predeceased by his wife of 41 years Billie Green Parker and siblings Clay Parker, Ethel Johnson, Etta Mae Parker, and Clint Parker. He was the owner of Moto X Park East where over the years he has formed many friendships. He was also known for his ability to cook delicious barbecue.
He is survived by his daughter Vicki Bailey and husband Frankie, sons Tim Parker, William Parker and wife Christy, grandchildren Patrick and Lee Holland, Philip Parker and wife Megan, Kassidee and Rebecca Parker, great grandson Wyatt Parker, and sister Pauline Bell of North Wilkesboro.
Funeral service, Saturday, December 10, 2011, 6:00 p.m. Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Third St. Wendell, NC with visitation immediately following the service and other times at Vicki’s home. Burial will be Sunday, December 11th at 2:00 p.m.in the family cemetery on Buffalo Road in Archer Lodge. www.stricklandfuneral homes.net
