FLOSSIE B. JOHNSON

January 13, 1919 – July 23, 2013

RALEIGH – Flossie Batten Johnson, 94, went home to the Lord on Tuesday.  A native of Wake Co. she was daughter to the late Johnny & Ethel Doan Batten.    She was an accomplished seamstress who did beautiful work.  Flossie truly had a gift in the flower garden, she could plant a stick and make it grow.  She was a loving mother and had a warm heart and smile.  She was preceded in death by her husband of over 39 years, Charlie A. Johnson, sons & daughters-in-law; Charlie Ray Johnson (Mary Ann) and Larry Johnson (Linda).

She is survived by sons; Randy Johnson (MaryAnn) of Raleigh, Willard “Bill” Miles Johnson of Wendell, sister; Pearl Mundy of Raleigh, 6 grandchildren,  9 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren.

Funeral service 3 pm, Thursday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment, Central Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers welcomed or memorials may be made to either Central Baptist Church or Swift Creek Baptist Church.
