Edward Lee Horton
July 29, 1950 – February 6, 2024
Four Oaks – Edward Lee Horton, 73, of Johnston County passed away this Tuesday, February 6th. Born in Lee County to late parents Vannie Horton and Annie Pearl Horton, Edward spent most of his life in the Raleigh area before relocating to Four Oaks for eight years. Throughout his life he worked as a tradesman, both in a mattress manufacturing plant and also previously at the Bull and Bear in Raleigh. Outside of work, Edward was known for his love of meeting new people and seeing the sights of his community. He would often times ride the bus just to see new parts of the Raleigh area. At home, you could find him sprucing up his yard, coloring, and just staying busy around the house. He will be surely missed by all who knew him.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Vannie and Annie Pearl Horton, and his sisters, Gracie Norman and Gertrude Horton.
He is survived by his sister, Debrah Ann Mosley; brothers, Richard Braswell and Benjamin Horton; & many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, February 10 from 2:00-3:00pm with a graveside service to follow at Greenmount Cemetery.
