DANA R. GRISWOLD
October 28, 1967 – October 4, 2012
ZEBULON – Dana Richardson Griswold, 44, of Zebulon passed away on Thursday, October 4th at home with family by her side after fighting a courageous battle with cancer since 2002. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of Walter Richardson and Sandra Edwards. She graduated from Baptist Temple Christian School and attended Hardbarger School of Business. She was employed at First Citizens for 14 years and was a volunteer for Zebulon Rescue for 10 years. In 2001, she and her partner in marriage and business founded WhitBrooke Builders, Inc.
Her passion for others inspired her to create a local group for families touched by cancer but her greatest passion in life was her family and she was known to be their #1 fan. She was an amazing and selfless inspiration to the entire community. She had a great love for sports and spent countless hours sharing her photography skills with numerous athletes that affectionately called her Ms. Dana, aka Team Mom. Her greatest love in life was for her husband Ken and her boys Taylor and Tanner. She cherished every moment she shared with them in life, giving tirelessly of her energy and time to be a perfect Mother and Wife.
Funeral service 3 pm, Sunday, Zebulon Baptist Church. Interment, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.
She is survived by her husband Ken of 21 years and two sons, Taylor and Tanner of the home, her father Walter Richardson, mother Sandra A. Edwards (Jerry), sister, Gina Temple (Woody), mother-in-law Patricia Roberson (Elton), brother-in-law Chuck Griswold (Kim), nephews Joshua & Chase Temple, and Scott Griswold, along with other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter Whitney Brooke Griswold.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that contributions may be made to the Taylor and Tanner Education Fund, C/O First Citizens Bank, Zebulon, NC.
