Connie Mack Mincey
February 6, 1938 – September 14, 2020

Spring Hope, NC – Connie Mack Mincey, 82, died Monday. He was born in Johnston County to the late Milton B. Mincey and Lila Alford Mincey.  He was the oldest of six children, often stated as “one of a kind.”  He loved his family, friends, and pets and never met a stranger. From meeting him to knowing him can only be described as an unforgettable experience, he was a colorful character. In his earlier years, he was an employee at Kemp Furniture in Wendell, which preceded his many years of operating Mincey Signs, showcasing his artistic abilities. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Pulley Mincey, son, B. J. Mincey and infant grandson, Joshua Jones, son-in-law, Tony Jones, siblings, George B. Mincey, Jeanette Mincey and John A. Mincey.

He is survived by his daughters, Pamela M. Jones, Libby Rosella Mincey, grandchildren, Lee Jones (Kristy), Mariah Umelo, Elijah Umelo, great grandchildren, Taylor Jones, Blake Jones, Jamie Jones, Jace Jones, sisters, Alma M. Horton (Bruce Debnam) and Rhonda M. Carlyle (Donald), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Flowers welcomed or memorials may be made to the Rolesville Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 185, Rolesville, NC 27571.

Graveside service to be held Friday, September 18, 11am at the Rolesville Baptist Church Cemetery, 498 West Young St., Rolesville, NC 27571.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Wake Med, Universal Health Care Lillington and Central Harnett Hospital for his care during the COVID Pandemic.  Special thanks to all the friends and loved ones who have shared their many memories and stories with us during this time. The family appreciates Walter Dunn for living God’s command of “Love Thy Neighbor As Thyself.”

    I am so very sorry for your loss. Mack was one of a kind with a heart of gold. So very sweet and good to everyone. He always had a story to tell and never met or knew a stranger.

    Any member loss in this family is a loss for the world. The obit intro is bound to say it all, as it describes each of Connie Mack’s siblings as well. Peace and care to all of the family.
