Agnes Lee Hawkins
February 13, 1923 – February 14, 2015
ZEBULON – Agnes Elizabeth Lee Hawkins, 92, died Saturday. A native of Nash County she was daughter to the late William V. & Ethel Tippett Lee. Agnes loved cooking and watching others enjoy her food. She was the definition of a true Southern lady. Her grandchildren were the light in her life. Agnes was a longtime member of Zebulon Baptist Church, a proud member of the Zebulon Lions Club Auxiliary, and the Keep America Beautiful Project. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charlie David Hawkins Jr., siblings, Marvin Lee, Hardin Lee, Ruby Davis, Kathleen Lewis, Rebecca Baker, Rachel Milam, & Frances Hough.
She is survived by her sons, David Hawkins (Lynn), Steve Hawkins, both of Zebulon, grandchildren, Jaime Friday (Jarrett), Theresa Roach (David), Charlie David Hawkins, III, Stephanie Lee Hawkins, sister, Evelyn Finch (James) of Middlesex, numerous nieces, nephews and very special friend, Rebecca Hinton
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Zebulon Baptist Church Building Fund.
Funeral service 3 pm, Monday, Zebulon Baptist Church with visitation from 1:00 – 2:45 pm, prior to the service, and other times at David & Lynn’s home, 9316 Dukes Lake Rd., Zebulon. Burial, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
