Virginia Collins Thompson

Virginia Collins Thompson, 93, of Wendell, NC, passed away January 12, 2025, at her home. She was born November 4, 1931, in Wayne County, to the late Nelson Collins and Mary Lynch Collins.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Perry (Jerry); son, Donnie Thompson; daughter-in-law, Lisa Thompson; grandchildren, Renee Atkinson and Hope Chamblee; great-grandchildren, Kristin (Brandon) Holloman, Lee (Payton) Chamblee, Amber Chamblee, and Toby Chamblee; and great-great-grandchildren, Landon and Bennett.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard Bruce Thompson; son, Leonard “Tommy” Braxton Thompson; sisters, Coralean Beasley and Sally Elks; brothers, Lonnie Collins, Hoover Collins, Paul Collins, and John Collins; daughter-in-law, Janice Thompson.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 20, 2025, at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603.
