Verda Murray Carter
August 24, 1924 – December 8, 2024
Verda Murray Carter, 100, entered the realms of glory to forever be with her Lord and Savior on December 8, 2024. She was born in Nash County to the late Sahnie Elbert and Nellie Alford Murray.
Verda lived a life of service, faith, and love that touched many in her community. She made a great contribution to her church community by teaching Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She and her husband opened their doors throughout the years to host Missionaries and Ministers of the Gospel. She believed heavily in the sharing of God’s Word, evident by her generosities in providing both financial and housing support.
Verda was preceded in death by her husband, Rex David Carter, and by her beloved siblings, Erdeane Cates, Uvelle Murray, Odell Murray, Duvern Murray, Erby Murray, Lama Jones & Inez Carter.
She is survived by her nephew, Tim Carter and his wife, Alyce Carter of Middlesex; as well as many other nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her deeply.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the Murray Family Cemetery.
