Valerie Lynn Beazley Bloodworth
March 27, 1960 – September 17, 2024
Wendell, North Carolina – Valerie Lynn Beazley Bloodworth, 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. She was born March 27, 1960 in Fredericksburg, Virginia to the late Clyde B. Beazley and Gloria Corbett Howell Hovaniec. Valerie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a “wicked” big Red Sox baseball fan and a fanatic Duke basketball fan. She had the pleasure of attending a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, and the honor of meeting Coach K. and the Duke basketball team at a practice session.
Michael and Valerie enjoyed 43 years and 103 days of marriage. They loved going to the beach together almost as much as they loved their dogs.
Valerie’s greatest joy was the birth of her grandson, Blake, and time spent with him over the last two years. Blake will greatly miss his Nana.
She is survived by her mother, Gloria Corbett Howell Hovaniec; her husband, Michael Allen Bloodworth; children: William Allen Bloodworth (Cassandra), Brian Adam Bloodworth (Beth); grandson, Blake Adam Bloodworth; sister, Kimberly Howell; sister-in-law, Linda Bloodworth; and nieces: Samantha Jean Beazley Hovaniec (Jynsen), Nicole Eddins Thompson (Dylan).
She is predeceased by her father, Clyde B. Beazley (Virginia); “Daddy”, Jerry G. Howell (Raleigh); and brother, Gregory S. Beazley (Raleigh).
At Valerie’s request, there will not be a memorial service. Her family will spread her ashes in a private ceremony at her favorite place, Topsail Beach.
The family requests privacy at this time. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
Condolences to the family may be sent to Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Wendell. www.stricklandfuneral.com
