Susan Joel Lloyd Barron

Susan Joel Lloyd Barron, 62, of Garner, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Susan was born on January 27, 1964, in Raleigh, NC, a daughter of the late Macon Joel Lloyd and Helen Lucille Lynn Lloyd. She spent all her life in the Wake County area. She loved volunteering to prepare food for the homeless and was a supporter of Goodwill Industries. She spent many years as a full-time caregiver for her mother during her declining health. She was a very talented writer and enjoyed writing in her spare time. She had pets that were more like children that she loved so much for many years, Boss, Roxy and Little Bear.
She was also a well loved member of her church at Room For One More Church.
She is survived by a son, Zachary Barron; a granddaughter, Zamora Barron; a sister, Pamela L. Bunch (Danny); three nephews, Matthew Bunch, Shannon Horton, and Tyler Bunch; three nieces, Lindsey Horton, Christy Peterson, and Abbey Gray; numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Samuel Joseph Horton; and a sister, Debbie Kay Lloyd Gray.
Visitation 2-3 pm, Sunday, April 12, 2026, Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell with funeral to follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Jeanette McCollum officiating in the funeral home chapel.
