ZEBULON – Ruth Wheeler Creech, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. She was born January 14, 1932, in Johnston County to the late William Kearney and Maggie Creech Wheeler. Ruth was a farmer’s wife, married to Seba Ashley Creech, for 65 years until his ultimate passing. Ruth was a faithful woman; evident in the characteristics bestowed upon her as a humble, kind, loving and gentle soul. As a mother of five boys, these traits all worked together for her to be a special mama. Those of us fortunate to have her in our lives know that she was as sweet as sugar. Ruth was a faithful member of Hales Chapel Baptist Church where she served in many leadership roles. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Gerald Creech.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Creech (Brenda), Greg Creech, Brent Creech (Allison) and Brooks Creech; daughter-in-law, Jenny Creech; brother, Billy Wheeler (Natalie); 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Flowers welcomed or memorial contributions can be made to Hales Chapel Baptist Church or Transitions LifeCare.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, April 15, 2022, at Hales Chapel Baptist Church, 13396 NC-39, Zebulon, NC 27597. Burial will take place immediately following the service in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow the service and other times at the home. She will lie in repose Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 2:00 – 5:00pm.
Arrangements are entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, NC 27591.
