Ruth Pippin Ray
April 19,1939 – October 9, 2017
WENDELL – Ruth Paige Pippin Ray, 78, died Monday morning. She was born in Franklin County to the late Bryant Thomas & Ruth Medlin Pippin. She worked for Devil Dog for 17 years and for Mortex for many years as well. She was a sweet woman who will be remembered by many. She was preceded in death by sons, James Allen Ray & Timothy Edward Ray, siblings; Mac, Tommy, Ernestine, & Gertrude.
She is survived by her children; Mel Kimble Ray (Deborah) of Zebulon, Dorothy Smith (Allen) of Fayetteville, Norma Jean Ray of Middlesex, siblings; Samuel Pippin (Brenda) of Zebulon, Janet Taylor (the late Jesse) of Pilot, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, & 1 great, great grandchild.
Funeral service 11 am, Thursday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell with visitation from 9:30 – 11 am, prior to the service & other times at the home. Burial, Pippin Family Cemetery. Full obituary at www.stricklandfuneral.com

We were so sorry to hear about Mrs. Ray’s sickness and death. We are praying for God’s comfort and grace to be with the entire family. May she rest in peace.
Spent a lot of my youth with Ruth, Granddaddy Ray and Norma running and round and playing. Considered her a grandma. She could make so wonderful homemade biscuits. She was a loving lady and will be missed by all. Sending love and prayers.
