Ruby Creech Baker
September 13, 1928 – March 5, 2017
ZEBULON – Ruby Creech Baker, 88, died Sunday with her family by her side. She was born in Johnston County to the late James Ruffin & Zettie Liles Creech. She was an incredible craft maker whose quilts and porcelain dolls are cherished by many,. She was a great cook who would never let anyone go away hungry. She was a truly giving & caring woman who people would turn to for help. She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Wesley Baker, granddaughter, Mandy Gore, siblings, Rachel Creech Ferguson, Ralph & Joe Creech.
She is survived by her children, James Baker & special friend, Angela Bahner of Zebulon, Rhonda Gore (Sam) of Castle Hayne, sister, Janice Moss of Zebulon, grandchildren, Jeremy Baker (Amy), Michael Baker (Sandy), Cliff Richardson (Shannon), 4 great grandchildren, 4 great, great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews.
Funeral service 3 pm, Wednesday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell with visitation from 1:30 – 3 pm, prior to the service. Burial, Zebulon Town Cemetery. www.stricklandfuneralhomes.net
