Ronald “Ronnie” Grey Perry
March 13, 1955 – March 22, 2026

On March 22nd, 2026, Ronnie Perry went home to be home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife Debbie, daughter Wendy Blanton of Fayetteville, sons Brian Whitman of Sanford & Jason Perry of Zebulon, brothers Billy Ronald Perry of Rocky Mount, Jay Perry of Knightdale, sisters, Lori Perry-Bolick of Knightdale & Wanda Gail Smith of Mebane, stepbrothers Vince & Chris Woody, stepsister, Kim Bright, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Oma Grey Rogers, father, Billy Ronald Perry, Sr, and grandparents, Garland & Elsie Perry.

Ronnie was a devoted husband and father. He married his wife, Debbie, with a ready-made family of two children & then one more was added to the crew. He was a hard worker and faithful man of God. He was a gentle, kind man who prayed with his wife for his family. He had a bit of a mischievous streak and a quick smile for all who knew him. He was a very generous giver of romantic gifts of flowers and jewelry on Valentine’s Day, birthdays and anniversaries. Ronnie worked as a Customer Service Representative at Unisource, International Paper Corp and Mac Papers until he had a stroke in April 2006 which left him severely disabled in both speech and his physical body until 2022. Covid & pneumonia further complicated his disabilities. It was at this time, he moved into Louisburg Nursing due to his inability to walk and take care of himself. Even during those times, he would have a ready smile for anyone visiting his room. After each visit he would have a “Love you” for you before you left. He will be dearly missed. He was the love of my life.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Earl Roach officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church, land fund, 4525 Hopkins Chapel Rd, Zebulon, NC, 27597.

Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell. www.stricklandfuneral.com

Ronnie was my biggest (oldest) brother. He was an amazing big brother. He had all the Perry attributes: kind, gentle, deeply loving and caring along with stubborn and sometimes charmingly mischievous ways. LOL! He was such a hero in my eyes with his many musical talents, beautiful voice and man could he tear those pearl drums up! I’ll always remember the band singing children’s Christmas songs for me at Daddy’s company Christmas party. Ronnie asked me what I wanted him to sing… I felt like a princess! He always made me feel special as his little sister. I’ll see you again Ronnie and I look forward to hearing your voice chime in with the praises we will sing together! I love you big brother, forever and always!! GO UNC!!!

Fred and I met Ronnie and Debbie when we moved to N.C. and loved them very much. We will always remember a man of God who always exhibited the fruits of the spirit. Ronnie was a very kind and gentle and compassionate man. He always had a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his face. Our daughter will remember him being very kind to her and a bear named Stanley. We know Ronnie knew Jesus and we will see him again soon in heaven. We will be praying for the entire family. We love you guys !
