ZEBULON – Ronald Glen Darby, 67, transitioned from this life unexpectedly on Sunday, December 11.  A native of Malvern, AR, he was born on Christmas Day of 1954 to the late John Bobby Darby and Elma Allman Darby.  He honorably and faithfully served our nation in the United States Air Force.  Upon completion of his military service, Ronald worked as a Ceiling Mechanic in the Construction Industry.   He had a passion for wood working and was quite exceptional in the hobby.  In the earlier years of his life, Ronald would get in touch with nature, enjoying the peace and relaxing atmosphere of fishing and hunting.  In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his siblings, Bobby Darby (his twin brother), Gordon Darby and Raymond Darby.

He is survived by his soulmate and love of his life, Terri Thorne Darby of the home; son, Alex Darby (Rob) of Concord and brother, Allen Darby (Theresa) of Zebulon.

A Memorial Gathering will take place at 3:00pm, Friday, December 16, 2022 at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, NC 27591.

In lieu of flowers, the Darby family asks that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choosing.
