Roger Lee Hale, Sr.
November 12, 1933 – September 02, 2023
WENDELL – Roger Lee Hale, 89, passed on to his eternal rest on September 2, 2023. He was born in Warren County to the late Roosevelt and Sally Ann Hale. Chief Warrant Officer Hale served his country for 20 years in the United States Army, from which he later retired. During his service, he was awarded 2 Gold Stars after serving 2 Tours in the Vietnam War. This retired honorable veteran was known for his generosity and his immense love for his family. His country will forever be indebted to him for his years of honorable and courageous service. Along with his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his previous wife, Jean Hale, his two sisters, Annie Pearl Phelps and Alice Clark, and his step-daughter, Jacqueline Matthews.
A Graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, September 22, 2023 at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, located at 164 Longs Plant Farm Rd., Goldsboro, NC 27534.
He is survived by his loving wife of 11 wonderful, memorable years, Felicia Ann Hale; his sons, Roger Lee Hale Jr. (Barbara) and David Hale and his daughters, Barbara Wilson (Melvin) and Sandy Johnson; his brother, Jimmy Hale (Muriel), and his step-daughters Donna Cassell (James), and Heather Hester (Nathan); 10 grandchildren and many beloved great and great-great-grandchildren.
