Robert “Bob” William Maxey
August 22, 1929 – March 2, 2016
ZEBULON – Robert “Bob” William Maxey 86, a true and faithful servant of the Lord went home on Tuesday. Bob retired from the United States Air Force. He was a wonderful husband and loved his country believing in the red, white, & blue. He enjoyed traveling, and the yearly gathering with fellow Air Force comrades. Bob was a sponsor for many addicted people and was a confidant who truly cared. He was preceded in death by step son, Steven Batchelor.
Funeral service 2 pm, Saturday, Social Plains Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Eleanor Dowling Maxey, children, Robert Maxey (Michelle) of Granite Bay, CA, James Maxey of Sacramento, CA, Ramona Williams (Ron) of Plymouth, CA, Angela Bryant (Dennis) of Zebulon, grandchildren, Charlie, Robbie, Emily, Thomas, Allen, Hannah, & Jacob, great grandchildren, Ada and Ben.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Transitions Life Care.
Visitation 7-8:30 pm, Friday, Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, & other times at the home.
