Richard John de Jongh
January 12, 1939 – December 17, 2016
WEST JEFFERSON – Richard John de Jongh, 77, died Saturday. He was born in Springs South Africa to Martin Peter & Winifred Sudding de Jongh. He worked at IBM for over 40 years. Richard was a world traveler, and loved providing for his family. He was kind and patient with his family who were his life. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Yvonne de Jongh in September & brother, Roy de Jongh
He is survived by his children, Glenn de Jongh (Amy) of Knightdale, Martin de Jongh (LaVonda) of Wilmington, Melinda Cooper (Colin) of Zebulon, grandchildren, Michelle Hood (Matt), Desiree Thorson (Cole) Elizabeth de Jongh, Alexa de Jongh, Shelby de Jongh, great grandchildren, Gavin Hood, Cooper Thorson, & Elliana Thorson.
