Richard Bruce Rife

ZEBULON – Richard Bruce Rife, 89, of Zebulon, NC, went Home to the Lord with his family around him on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
Mr. Rife was born on August 26, 1937, in Hurley, VA, a son of the late Halsey Rife and Ruth Marrs Rife. He lived most of his life in the Franklin County area where he owned and operated Rife’s Appliances. In his retirement years, he loved working at the Rocky Mount Flea Market. He will be remembered as an ambassador for the Lord and a strong family man. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Tabernacle.
He is survived by his son, Vernon E. Rife (Pat) of Louisburg; a daughter, Lisa Edwards (Neil) of Zebulon; six grandchildren, Tracey Rife, Eric Rife (Jessica), Steven Abernathy (Kelly), Heather Edwards, Amanda Denton, and Tyler Rife; and fifteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Pauline Morgan Rife; a son, Paul Gregory “Greg” Rife; a daughter, Wendy Whittington; a brother, Douglas Rife; and a grandson, Brandon Cole Rife.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Strickland Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Pastor Mark Tondee officiating. Interment will follow the service in Greenmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
