RALPH S. ALFORD
August 16, 1929 – January 2, 2014
ZEBULON – Ralph Stanford Alford, 84, died Thursday. A native of Nash County he was son to the late Darner & Grace Bryant Alford. Ralph worked for Wendell Transport over 40 years. He was a good strong man and one in a million. He was preceded in death by brothers, Everett & Norman.
Funeral service 2 pm, Sunday, Zebulon Baptist Church. Internment, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Young Alford of the home, sons, Stan Alford (Edna) of Archer Lodge, Dale Alford (Kim) of Corinth Holders, siblings, Fred Alford (Mary Ann) of Wendell, Ray Alford of Wendell, Katerina Smith (Lonnie) of Raleigh, Joyce Blackley (Charles) of Zebulon, Shelby Jean Alford of Wendell, & Alice Mentlewski (Chet) of Bunn, grandchildren, Joy Alford Evans (Ray), Timothy Alford, Hope Alford, great grandchildren, Joseph & Austin.
Flowers welcomed or memorials may be made to Zebulon Baptist Church.
