Ralph Lee Bass
August 29, 1933 – December 4, 2021
MIDDLESEX – Ralph Lee Bass, 88, passed away on Saturday, December 4th, 2021. He was born in Johnston County to the late Redden & Irene Stancil Bass. He worked as an Electric Meter Reader for the Town of Selma, where he went on to retire. Mr. Bass was also the cemetery sexton and worked in many other varied, unique occupations. He honorably served his country for many years in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Bass Pulley, Roxann Johnson (James), grandchildren, Bert Johnson, Roger Johnson (Nikki), Christopher Johnson (Allison), great-grandchildren, Braden, Hailey, Ava, Brooklynn, Cash, Addie Grace, Charlie Kate, adopted family, Shirley Lane, Kathy Wheeler, Donna & Charles Flanagan, and his 2 best fur buddies, Molly & Trooper.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are asked to be made to SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health, https://www.johnstonhealth.org/donate/make-a-donation/ or by mail at, Johnston Health Foundation, PO Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577, Attn: Hospice Fund, in his memory.
A memorial service will be held 3 pm, Wednesday at Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist, 7438 NC-96 N, Selma, NC 27576. Family will meet with friends following the service.

So sad read this tonight! Mr Ralph was always a nice man to be around. I always think of him riding around in the little white Town of Selma truck when I was little! We will be keeping you in our thoughts ❤️
Roxanne, I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. There is always a special bond with father and daughter. It helps to light a candle when your emotions overtake you. Vi still light one for my dad at Christmas. Love and prayers.
