Raleigh – Peter Francis Srnick, 81, died on Tuesday. He was born in Cleveland OH to the late Peter Ludwig & Margaret Helen Stefanko Srnoversnik. Pete was a distinguished Civil Engineer. He worked on the first interstate going through West Virginia as well as building many major bridges in Ohio & throughout the country. He loved music, playing the accordion at church events, for his family, & at events with the song shake your boodie. The three things most important to him in his life were his family, church, & music, which he spent his entire live enjoying. Pete’s love for his wife was top notch and he worshiped the ground she walked on.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Verna Faye Turley Srnick, children, Pamela Faye Thompson, Gregory Peter Srnick, DeAnne Griffore (Tom), Katherine Prince, siblings, Jo Ann Baldree, Paul Sirnick (Karen), grandchildren, Paula Culverhouse (Jonathan), Bridgette Thompson (Ricky), Amy Thompson (Seral), Mara Griffore, Mae Griffore, great grandchildren, Olivia Culverhouse, Landon Culverhouse, Leila Culverhouse, Austin Culverhouse, Maryah Bledsoe, Khloe Bledsoe, nephews, Jeffrey Phillips, Peter Phillips, Timothy Phillips, niece, Stacey Macecevic (Steven), great nephews & nieces, Justin, Kyle, Kaylee, Evan, & Ayla.
Pete will lie in repose, Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 9 am – 5 pm, at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third ST., Wendell. www.stricklandfuneral.com MASK REQUIRED.

We were saddened at the news of Pete’s passing. He was beloved at NRCOC and a really nice person. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Paul and I were very sorry to hear that Pete passed away. He was always so kind. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.
One of the Kindest men I had the pleasure to meet. Even though it’s been many years since we have seen Pete we know he will be missed by family but know that Jesus is enjoying his company now. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.
David and I share the grief, but the comfort of knowing Pete will be greeting and waiting for you on the other shore, there with grandmother and others ,God bless you all. .
I’m so sad to hear about Pete’s passing. He was one of the kindest men I have ever had a chance to work with. Pete made it a pleasure to come to the office every day. May he rest in peace. May God bless your family.
