Sandra “Paulette” Lynch Richardson
July 20, 1945 – April 13, 2025
WENDELL – Paulette Richardson, 79, left us unexpectedly Sunday. She fought a hard battle over the last several years with her heart and dementia. She recently had a short hospital stay but was doing much better. It appears God had other plans.
Paulette (Momma, Ma, Mema & Mema Horses) lived a full life with a rewarding and successful career of 30 years, retiring from Nationwide Insurance as Regional Human Resources Director. Her family meant everything to her. She was born in Wake Co. to the late William Gordon & Nona Mae Alford Lynch. Although she was born in Raleigh she grew up in Johnston Co. and until the last 6-7 years she lived in a 15 mile radius her whole life. Wendell was home, where she and her late husband W.H. raised their children, farmed tobacco and enjoyed hosting their friends and family frequently. The rodeos on the farm were a weekly event that everyone looked forward to. She absolutely loved all the chaos that came with having all of the family there! Christmas was a big deal too. Spoiling everyone made her so happy. She loved to go overboard when it came to shopping, especially once the grandchildren came along. Paulette also loved to travel and the beach was her favorite destination. Her top three were Myrtle Beach, Emerald Isle & Swansboro.
Her family will miss the times they shared and will cherish them for the years to come. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, W. H. Richardson.
Paulette is survived by her children, Les Brown (Lisa) of Spring Hope, Lyn Johnson (Kevin “G”) of Statesville and Daphne Perry (Bob) of Zebulon; her grandchildren, Corbin Brown, Meredith Weadon (Mark), and Kimberly Butler (Paul); three adorable great grandchildren, a host of very special nieces and nephews and the super special gran-dog Gabby; her very dear lifelong friends, Barbara & Kay, and her beloved cousin (that was more like the sister she didn’t have) Nancy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society
