I have such wonderful memories of your mom and dad . . . and I know that you do too! Growing up in the Hales Chapel community with extended family to love and protect you was a precious time in our lives, wasn’t it? Your mom and dad were always in church with you and were quick to volunteer anywhere they were needed. Your mom worked so hard in her younger years, Your dad would visit my mom and dad at Vann’s store in the late afternoon; when he saw Mildred returning home from work at Westinghouse, he would leave to meet her so they could work in the fields together “a little bit longer.” Mom would send her a sandwich, and Dad would send her a soft drink! Those were much simpler times, but their devotion to each other and their children was tender and loving.
May you have peace and abundant joy knowing that they are reunited and with our loving God.
Rowland and Jane Vann Strickland
