Michael Wilson Bailey
January 23, 1955 – April 30, 2024

Mike Bailey was an affectionate, dedicated and hardworking man who always put the needs of others before his own. Mike was born in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. He is predeceased by his parents, Henry Wilson Bailey and Alma Garrett Bailey and by his brother, Tony Bailey. After fighting a rare cancer since November, 2020, Mike passed away at age 69 on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Mike leaves behind his cherished and beloved Susan Longiotti of Chapel Hill, where they made their home for many years. He leaves a son, Shea Bailey and wife, Megan, a daughter, Brooke Zepeda and husband, David. He also leaves a daughter of the heart, Vittoria Longiotti Ciampa and her husband, Mike and Brian and Nicole Longiotti Farmer, all of whom he loved as his own. Mike’s grandchildren include Ella and Brower Bailey, Lucas Zepeda, Olive and Coco Ciampa, Grace, Emma and Joe Farmer. Also surviving Mike is his sister, Diane Dyson.

Mike was President and Owner of Deals on Wheels, Inc. of Zebulon which he founded in 1981. Mike attended Corinth-Holders School, Selma Middle School and Smithfield-Selma Senior High School. He graduated from the Electronics and Computer Programming Institute. He was an avid NC State University fan.

Family visitation will be at 5:00 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. 3rd Street, Wendell, NC. The funeral will be 2:00 o’clock pm on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Baptist Tabernacle, 1599 NC Highway 231, Wendell, NC. Mike will be buried at Baptist Tabernacle among his father, mother and brother.

    Sending prayers to comfort for the days and weeks to come. My dad knew Mr. Mike and would go to the junk yard. I know they are both in heaven together now chatting up a storm.
