March 25, 1944 – October 17, 2018

ZEBULON – Mary Elizabeth Glover Evans, 74, died Wednesday after a brief illness. She was born in Wilson County to the late Melvin Broadus & Lizzie Hinson Glover. She graduated from East Carolina Teaching College and later worked for many years with Dr.’s Windley & Barrett DDS. Mary Lib loved God, her family and was actively involved in her church. She enjoyed music, gardening & playing bridge and was well known as a great cook, a great Grammy, very special wife & mother.

Funeral service 3 pm, Sunday, Zebulon United Methodist Church with committal at Bailey Town Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Thomas Earle Evans of the home, sons, Mel Privette (Maribeth) of New Knoxville, OH, Fred Privette (Leslie) of Zebulon, step-daughters, Shannon O’Neal (David) of Fuquay, Jill Phlippeau (Dan) of Goldsboro, grandchildren, Hannah, Zach, Max, Avery, Sophia, Sam, Jacob, Jake & Dalton.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Zebulon United Methodist Church or American Cancer Society.

Visitation 5-6:30 pm, Saturday, Strickland Funeral Home 211 W Third St., Wendell & other times at the home. www.stricklandfuneral.com

    Praying for Tom and family.. Mary Lib had a “Heart of Grace” – one saw it, felt it, and she lived it. I will miss her sweet gentle smile and touch . She was my Christian sister..
