July 21, 1941 – December 6, 2022

ZEBULON – Mary Frances Corbett Curtis, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning, December 6, 2022.  She was born in Johnston County to the late Esker Joseph and Blonnie Blanche Long Corbett.  She lived a very full, eventful life.  She retired from ITT/Alcatel in March 1996 after twenty-seven years of service to stay home with her two beloved granddaughters.  She enjoyed caring for them until they began school and would spend hours reading to them.  She loved her family including her many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews as well as her many friends.  She was preceded in death by her siblings Esker Joseph Corbett Jr. (EJ), Carson Malone Corbett, Doris Blanche Corbett Hicks, Charles Herbert Corbett (Herbert), Shirley Jean Corbett Hayes, and Donald Waynewright Corbett.  She was also preceded in death by Churchill Curtis, the father of their only child.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Reneé Curtis of Zebulon; granddaughters, Makenzie Reneé and Makayla Raye of Zebulon; many beloved nieces and nephews; and life long friends, Joan Wilson and Sheila Carlyle.

At her request, a private graveside service will be held at Corinth Baptist Church.

    Angie I’m so sorry to hear about about your mom. Treasure all the great memories you two have! I know I will and just always remember how much she loved you and your precious daughters!     Angie you know how much I loved your mother. I will always remember her and our friendship. I will miss her so very much. McKenzie and McKayla your grandmother was so proud of you both any loved you very much . Don’t ever forget that. God bless you all. I love you all.
