January 10, 1914 – April 2, 2021

WENDELL – Mary Elizabeth Gray Bright, 107, passed away on Good Friday. She was born in Tyrrell County to the late John and Lena Brickhouse Gray. She loved gardening, flowers, and enjoyed wood crafting. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Eugene Robert Bright.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Gene Bright Neeper (LeRoy), Linda Conoley (Neal), grandchildren, John Conoley (Julie), Jim Conoley (Kathleen), great grandchildren, John T. Conoley, Kate Conoley, and Blake Pennington.

Memorial Service 11 am, Saturday, April 17th, Wendell Baptist Church, 3651 Wendell Blvd, Wendell. MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Burial will take place at a later time. Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third Street, Wendell.

    What a blessing God gave to Mary and her family! So many years to make memories to hold each and everyone of her family close till you meet again! We are so glad to have had the memory to have known her. We send love and prayer’s.

    Linda you were blessed to have your mom all those years and she was blessed to have a daughter and son in law who truly loved her and cared for her for so long. Marco and I wish to express our sympathy to you and your family.
