MARY MAYO BEDARD

KNIGHTDALE – Mary Mayo Bedard, 92, formerly of Robinwood, died Friday surrounded by her beloved family. A native of Pitt County, she was daughter to the late Freddie Lee and Anliza Lewis Mayo. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Louis V. Bedard; brother, Charles Ed Mayo; sisters, Gertie Lee Allen, Mozelle Howard and Mildred Parker.
She is survived by her daughters, Tami Bedard Sakiewicz and husband Tom of Knightdale, and Sue Turlington and husband Everett of Emerald Isle; grandchildren, Lindsay Sakiewicz of Knightdale, and Brian Turlington and wife Miriam of Pacific Grove, Ca.; great granddaughter, Adela of Pacific Grove, Ca.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Julia Meekins and Ellis of Winston Salem, Frances Dupree and James of Bethel, Freddie Tipton and Clarence “Tip” of Havelock, and Joyce Nobles and Billy of Ayden; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service, 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Sameh Mobarek and his staff, Hospice of Wake County and Tami’s co-workers for their care, support, and most importantly sharing their time in helping to care for Mary.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to a charity of one’s choice or to Grace Baptist Church, Wendell.
