Mark Joseph Ostrander, Sr. of Clayton, NC passed away in his sleep on March 18, 2016. He was born on Nov. 29, 1963 in Wildwood, NJ. Loving husband of Samantha, doting father to Alexandra and Mark Jr. Survived by his parents Earl B. Ostrander Sr. of Tamarac, Fl. and Sylvia Benham of Ephrata, Pa. and brother Earl B. Ostrander Jr. of Allentown, Pa.

       Mark graduated from Wildwood High School in 1982. He began his love for K9 training while proudly serving his country in the US Air Force. He later served as a sworn law enforcement officer for the cities of Wildwood, North Wildwood, and Sea Isle City. Using his law enforcement background, he headed security for Tri-Arc Industries, the Trump Organization at Mar-a-lago, Goldman Financial Group, Village of Golf, as well as Ibis Golf and Country Club. In 2002, Mark started his family owned training organization, OSCO Public Safety Solutions, catering to Security and Law Enforcement professionals, as well as Healthcare providers, First Responders, and the general population with an array of courses for which he was lead instructor and developer. Upon moving to North Carolina, Mark started as a telecommunicator for Raleigh-Wake 911.

Mark served on several community boards and committees including the Johnston County Emergency Planning Committee, Corinth Holders HS, and Archer Lodge MS Advisory Council. He was a Master Mason with Millbrook Masonic Lodge #97 Raleigh as well as a Noble member Shriner with the Amran Shrine.

The family wishes to thank the Archer Lodge FD for their commitment and service to the community, including their assistance during Mark’s time of need. The 200 Club of Wake County is a nonprofit organization which supports the families of fallen first responders in North Carolina.

         Please join us for a service of remembrance on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, located at Poplar and Atlantic Avenues in Wildwood NJ, at 1:00 P.M, with Pastors Fred Becker and Mary Gade.
