SANFORD – Madie Mooneyham Hensell, 85, died Sunday. A native of Johnston County she was daughter to the late Herbert & Nellie Grey Baker Mooneyham. She worked as an inspector at ITT. She was a wonderful cook and a great poet. She loved softball, & bowling. Madie loved her children so much and worked hard to make a better life for them. Her grandchildren & great grandchildren were her joy. She was preceded in death by her _daughter, Nancy Holloman, brothers, Douglas, Coye, Waylon, Glenn, & Herbert, Jr., Mooneyham, sisters, Ruby Fowler & Jewel Harden.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Edwards of Rolesville, Lafaye Williford (Jerry) of Dunn, & Jackie Watson (Robert) of Sanford, sister, Virgie Krehbiel of Clayton, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
Flowers or memorials to Community Home Care & Hospice of Lee County, 1836 Doctors Dr., Sanford, NC, 27330, are welcomed.
Funeral services will be4 pm, Wednesday, in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell. Visitation will be 2-4 pm prior to the service. www.stricklandfuneralhomes.net
