WENDELL – Lucy Lorene Blackley Horton, 89, of 827 Industrial Dr., died Thursday. A native of Wake County she was daughter to the late Eddie & Lucille Moody Blackley. She was preceded in death by husbands, Orlando Puryear & William Horton. She was also preceded in death by brothers, James & Bobby Blackley.
Funeral services will be 3 pm, Sunday, in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty P. Ayscue of Wendell, son, Lawrence O. Puryear & wife Katherine of Raleigh, grandchildren, Jim Puryear & wife Molly of Benson, Stephen Puryear & wife Shelly of Willow Springs, Dean Ayscue & wife Margaret of Wendell, and Keith Ayscue & wife Ronda of Greensboro, brother, Wayne Blackley of Wake Forest, sisters, Doris B. Johnson & Deborah B. Massey both of Raleigh, Carolyn B. Brown of Zebulon, Eleanor Glenn Woodard & Margie W. Murray both of Wake Forest, Etta Sue Lancaster of Whitaker, brothers, Larry Thomas Blackley of Wake Forest & Tony Edward Blackley of Tarboro.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Britthaven of Louisburg, Resident Council Funds,
