SPRING HOPE – Lucille Crocker Massey, 88, passed away on Saturday. She was born in Johnston County, one of 8 children born to Harvey and Alice Crocker. She retired from the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. In her free time, Mrs. Massey enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, laughing and playing practical jokes on unsuspecting loved ones.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tommy Massey; children, Leon Vinson (Susan), Linda V. Crofton (Clayton), Annette V. Reynolds (Ronald) and Emerson Vinson (Deborah); stepson, Randy Massey (Belinda); brother, Jimmy Crocker (Brenda); 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Randy Massey and his daughter, Renee Driver, for their compassionate care and devotion shown to Mrs. Massey. The family also wishes to thank Community Hospice for their care of Mrs. Massey.

Funeral service, 2pm, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Wendell. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm – 1:45pm, prior to the service. Burial will take place in the cemetery of Rocky Cross Holiness Church.

    So sad to hear of her passing. I had hoped that one day I might see her again. I have very few memories of my time with her but they are good memories. I keep pictures of her and i in my photo album. RIP meemaw
