SPRING HOPE Lloyd McCoy Sanderford, Sr. 82, died Monday morning, December 3, 2018 at his home. He was born March 11, 1936 in Johnston County to David Clarence Sanderford and Callie Whitley Sanderford. Lloyd loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, playing golf and served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a machinist with Schrader Bellows & BMI.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Blackley Sanderford; children, Lonnie Sanderford, his wife Kathryn and his daughter Samantha of New Bern, Lynn Anderson and her husband Floyd and their children, Stephan, Jesse, Christofer, Jared and Veronica of Prescott Valley, Arizona; McCoy Sanderford, Jr. and his daughter, Ashlee of Zebulon; Carla Sanderford and her daughters, Megan and Lexie of Spring Hope; his special grandson, Curtis Raymond and great grandchildren, Brantley, Michael and Ethan. Lloyd is also survived by his brother, Dwight Sanderford, and sisters, Kay Gresham and Fay Jones and step-brother, Aaron Johnson, all of Wendell.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, David Starling Sanderford and Curtis Sanderford; sisters, Eleanor Phipps, Evelyn Hodge and Callie Joe Johnson Tant.

The Sanderford family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third Street, Wendell, NC, 27591.

    I am so sorry to hear the passing of Lloyd. Unfortunately I will be out of town during the visitation but I want you to know that you and all the family will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Again, condolences to the entire family.
