Linda Honeycutt Johnson
August 17, 1943 – September 20, 2016
CLAYTON – Linda Honeycutt Johnson of Clayton, NC passed from this life on Tuesday, September 20th, 2016. Linda was born on august 17, 1943 on Lake Myra in Wendell, NC to the late Willie Edward Honeycutt and Lois Strickland Honeycutt.
Linda was most talented at having a good time much to the disappointment of a more conforming society in which she was reared. Being the poster child for A.D.D., before it was thought of as a condition, she enjoyed different types of employment throughout her life but never considered her occupation the limelight of her time.
As Linda felt her way through, she brought children in to this world, she wasn’t quite sure how to manage parenthood and welcomed many people into the lives of her children to assist her. She did a most wonderful thing in teaching her children that love comes from many directions and has no conditions. She most brightly shined as a grandparent together with her adoring husband James. She taught that there were no judgements in love.
She gave her husband, children and grandchildren a love of good food, Diana Ross, Sam Cooke, Rod Stewart, good books, travel, dancing and most of all a somewhat twisted sense of humor…
She is survived by her devoted husband James H. Johnson of Clayton,
children; Cindy Baucom (Robin) of Raleigh, Ricky Parker (Angie) of Benson, Tony Mills (Lora) of Clayton. Jamey Parker of Clayton. Bridget Johnson of Tennessee, grandchildren; Cami Baucom Pippin (Sterling) of Farmville. Parker Baucom , Austin Baucom of Raleigh, Kara Parker, Felicia Cotten, Jessica Parker, Jacob mills, Dylan and Nicholas Pensa of Tennessee, mother Lois Strickland Honeycutt of Wendell and sister Donna Goodwin of Willow Spring, also many loving cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father Willie and granddaughter Jasmyne Mills.
A celebration of Linda’s laughter will be held at thanksgiving to which she will be late.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford or to a charity of your choice.
