LeAnn Denise Henderson

December 15, 1969 – April 26, 2024

ZEBULON – LeAnn Henderson, age 54, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ and entered into God’s Heavenly Kingdom on Friday, April 26th. LeAnn was born in Arlington, Texas (Tarrant County) to parents: Willis Eugene and Felma LeNeta Short Jeter, both of whom she is survived by. Additionally, LeAnn is survived by her husband of 39 years, Randy Henderson; her daughter, Katya Mavropoulos (Chris); her grandchildren, Castiel and Ella; her siblings, Melissa Jackson (Tony) and Michael Jeter (Lareta); and her many beloved family and friends.

LeAnn and Randy were blessed with a deeply loving marriage, which only grew stronger with time. “LeAnn is the one True Love of my life and I’m so very thankful for every single day that we were blessed to be together”, said her husband Randy. “I’ve never known anyone as honest, kind and genuinely caring as LeAnn; her presence in this world was a bright light to me and all who knew her.” LeAnn was an avid reader, very thoughtful, gentle and wise. Even when she was young, many of her friends would seek her guidance because she was a great listener; she truly cared and would always give honest and helpful counsel to anyone who sought it. LeAnn will continue to be dearly loved and missed but we rejoice that she is in Heaven, where great celebration and many happy reunions are taking place.

Described as selfless, generous, loving, and a fighter by her daughter Katya, she will most certainly be missed by all those who were blessed enough to know her. “I thank God every day that He chose LeAnn to be my mom. I am so thankful to Him for the awesome gift that He bestowed upon me for 20 years – the gift of being a daughter to the most caring woman in the world…” Both Randy and Katya greatly “look forward to the day that I can see her again and hug her tight….”

Obtaining her degree in Child Development and graduating with honors from Tarrant College in Hurst, TX, she dedicated her life to her marriage, family and to helping children and animals that did not have a voice or advocate. She diligently devoted her time, energy and resources to help orphans and animals in need. To her many friends and family, LeAnn leaves behind a legacy of love and care, known for her passion toward animal rescue and dog rescue in particular. Along side a caring dog rescue community, LeAnn has helped countless dogs escape being euthanized in shelters and assisted with sponsorships, finding foster care and eventually adoption into loving forever homes.

Therefore, in lieu of flowers or gifts, LeAnn’s request is for friends and family to simply make a donation of any size “in memory of LeAnn Henderson” to one of the dog rescues listed below or to a local dog rescue of your choice.

LeAnn was entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory. www.stricklandfuneral.com. LeAnn and Randy’s final wish is to eventually share a common memorial urn onto which the last survivor’s passing date will be inscribed and their remains will be in death as they were in life; joined together in thoughtful loving care.

Please enjoy the memorial tribute videos created by Randy to his “one True Love” LeAnn Denise Henderson.
